Mon, 17 July- Long, Somers Beach 14.5km
Todays run turned from a Tempo, to a long. Which was soooo good in so many ways!
Left home just after 2.30pm and decided on running to Somers Beach. (7.3km's one way)
As todays run was the longest i was about to do in a very long time, i thought i would take it quite easy. What a great pace i was doing. Got no idea what it was, but it was really comfy and perfect for thinking. I got to the beach in just under 45mins. Stopped, stretched and took in some scenery. couple of mins then headed off for home.
As every one seems to be talking about 'negative splits' i decided that i too wanted one. I upped the pace, only slightly out of comfort zone, and arrived home in 87.39mins. Remember there are a few hills to tackle on this track too.
Max HR, 165-86%, Av 156-82%.
Today was one of those runs that were at the right time and right place. Also as i took it easy, shins held up well. After i stretched i iced the shins too.
Can't remember what else i wanted to say.
Oh well, but, 'what a run'
Thanks for the suggestion of running further Stu. Very therapuitic.
