Fri 9 June- Pelican 8km

Went down to the park around 11am or so and it was bloody freezing. As you can see in pic, was very foggy still around lunch time. Westernport bay is actually behind those trees somewhere.

Decided to go home and head out around 2pm and hope that the sun would be out by then.

By the time i arrived it was just before 3pm. Did a 5min warm up jog as i was so cold i was worried about snapping something. Set off at a very easy pace. Would have been able to converse.... in great detail. HR didn't break 150 for quite a while. First lap took 13.10mins. (which is very slow) I think my fastest time on this track is around 11mins something. Anyway, i kept to the slow pace as i didn't want to mis out on sundays run due to injury. Funnily enough, every lap was the same. 13.10mins. Amazing how i did that as i wasn't even trying.

After i finished (52.41mins) i stretched and didn't take long to recover (puffing that is).

HR max 159 83%, av 152 80%.

Run was enjoyable but slow. But i know i did the right thing for a change.

After picking my girls up this afternoon i ran up the drive way. whoa baby, sore legs everywhere. I plan on taking it easy tomorrow. Only activities, will be trying to assemble a bike for my soon to be 4yr old birthday girl and LOL baking a cake. OMG. Thanks to Aunty B, i now am locked into making a swimming pool birthday cake. But as there is almost the sound of pitter pattering in their house, i am sure i will get some revenge eventually.

Stu has me down for 60mins. So am thinking around the 11km mark.
Not sure where yet, but it will have to be close as i have a special b'day party to organise.

Good stuff today Crissy, nice and easy, first time running 3 days in a row in the last 2 months or so, so caution was to be used.

Remember this week's long run is reduced to keep you fresh and not burn out the long run, back to hurting you next week.

    :-)

    & no more S.R@!!$

I'll take your word that Westernport Bay is behind the trees. Looks very crisp.

Brrr, I had a cold run this morning as well, was tempted to hijack a kangaroo at one stage!

Gotta love the fancy birthday cake, that Women's Weekly birthday cake book has probably been the curse of many mum's. I remember demanding my mum bake me the pink castle cake one year, complete with 4 turrets.
